KYMT 2022 has been canceled. We hope to see you in 2023!
Our mission trips have transformed the lives of countless teens through days filled with hard work, evenings filled with devotion, nights spent on the church floor, and the fastest showers you've ever taken. Maybe that doesn't sound appealing to you. Try this: days spent sharing what we have with the most appreciative people you'll ever meet, evenings that bring you into a deeper relationship with a loving and merciful God, nights that remind you how lucky you are to have a comfortable bed, and a focus on other's needs rather than your own. It's all about perspective!
Our 2019 Kentucky Youth Mission Trip (KYMT) was the 40th annual trip to Morehead, Kentucky. This trip has humble beginnings, starting as an overnight trip to take supplies to the Christian Social Services center, led by our very own Deacon Ray Pizaña. While we no longer take donations for the store, we continue to support the community through other projects. For our three workdays, our group splits into three groups and each heads out to a different work-site. We work at the center to sort donations, as well as organizing and stocking the store merchandise. CSS also coordinates job sites where we can build handicap ramps for individuals who are currently unable to get in and out of their homes. In 2019 we were able to build 2 ramps and a deck/ramp combo in our three workdays. We also work with Cave Run Area Habitat for Humanity. Through this organization, we were able to insulate two homes, build a new deck, finish a porch, and complete some landscaping. And all of this was completed by 17 teens, with the supervision of 6 chaperones.
